Welcome Message from Carol Jenkins
For more than 90 years, World Learning has equipped individuals and institutions to address the world’s most pressing problems. We believe that, working together with our partners, we can change this world for the better.
On my travels, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with many of those who have joined us in this mission. In Baghdad, we’ve trained more than 2,300 Iraqi youth who are already giving back at home. In London, our partners in the TAAP Initiative strongly believe that we are all responsible to practice inclusion. And in Vermont, our Experiment in International Living and School for International Training participants prove every day that they have the tools and the determination to change the world.
Please join us in our pursuit of a more peaceful and just world.

Program Description
The Electoral Empowerment of Civil Society Project (EECSP) strengthened the capacity of civil society organizations (CSOs) to become integral parts of election activities in Nigeria.
EECSP was led by the National Democratic Institute (NDI), in partnership with World Learning, Search for Common Ground (SFCG), and the Center for Democratic Development Ghana (CDD-Ghana). The project focused on improved organizational management and expanded domestic electoral observation and participation for CSOs. World Learning’s role included strengthening the capacity of Nigerian partner CSOs to effectively carry out targeted advocacy efforts. World Learning used a combination of training and coaching to provide targeted technical assistance to eight Nigerian organizations, strengthening their organizational capacity and their technical expertise in areas such as advocacy and strategic communications.
Program Goals
- Built civil society organizations’ ability to engage in election activities in Nigeria.
- Improved domestic electoral observation and participation for civil society organizations.
- Expanded the participation of individuals from marginalized groups in elections.
