World Learning Names New Vice President of Development
BRATTLEBORO, VT (February 2, 2007) -- World Learning today announced the appointment of Natalie Fleischman to the position of Vice President of Development, reporting to President and CEO, Carol Bellamy.
Fleischman, who has 20 years of fundraising experience in the educational sector, joins World Learning from the University of Vermont where she was responsible for a $250 million campaign, working closely with the dean, faculty and university volunteers. At UVM, Natalie cultivated millions of dollars of gifts for the university, organized major fundraising events and coordinated programs that brought new philanthropists and volunteer leaders together.
"We are very excited to have Natalie join our senior team at World Learning," said Bellamy. "Her proven success with fundraising and development strategy will help us build the resources we need to deliver and expand on our excellent programs."
Prior to her work at the UVM, Fleischman directed the New York Regional Office for the University of Pennsylvania during a $2 billion campaign. The New York region included more than half of the university's major donors. She also oversaw components of a $1 billion campaign for New York University.
"I’m thrilled to have this opportunity to contribute to the growth of an institution with a truly global reach and such a timely and critical mission," said Fleischman.
At World Learning, Fleischman will be responsible for leading the organization’s development team in the design and implementation of a multi-year campaign to support a new five-year strategic plan across World Learning’s divisions: The School for International Training (SIT), SIT Study Abroad, The Experiment in International Living, World Learning for International Development, and World Learning for Business.
